Dr Akaninyene Otu received a research award grant from Astra Zeneca Nigeria on 7th December 2015 at Protea Hotel Ikeja Lagos. The grant award was valued at 3,500,000 naira and facilitated a community-based research project on seroprevalence of dengue in Cross River State Nigeria. Two research articles were subsequently published on the findings of this project
